Switching from Raindrop.io

Bring your Raindrop.io collections into Chrome's own bookmarks.
One subscription for the whole stack.

Back up your Raindrop.io collections, drop the CSV into Toolbox, and they become Chrome bookmark folders you can search, tidy up and open from the side panel, with their tags and notes kept. Bookmarks are one tool in a side panel that also has a screen recorder, a PDF editor and short links.

Who it's for

Made for you if…

  • You save links into collections and want them in Chrome's own bookmarks.
  • You use tags and notes to find things later.
  • You already pay for other browser tools and want one subscription.
Bring your data

Move from Raindrop.io to Toolbox

Collections become Chrome bookmark folders, and Toolbox keeps your tags, notes, highlights, covers and favorites with them.

  1. In Raindrop.io (app.raindrop.io), go to Settings → Backups and press Create new.
  2. Raindrop.io emails you when it's ready. Download the CSV from the same page (unzip it if it comes as a .zip).
  3. Add Toolbox to Chrome and sign in, then open Bookmarks on the web, press Import and drop the file.
  4. Pick a new or existing folder, check the preview and import. Changed your mind? Undo the import.

What comes over

  • Collections, as folders, nested the same way
  • Tags and notes, with highlights added to the note
  • Excerpts and cover images, as each bookmark's description and preview
  • Favorites, tagged favorite

What doesn't

  • The dates you saved them: Chrome dates every new bookmark today
  • Shared collections and other Raindrop.io features, which stay in your Raindrop.io account
Import from Raindrop.io You'll see what comes over before anything is added.
What to expect

Bookmarks in Toolbox, next to Raindrop.io

Where Toolbox is as good or better, and where it's different. Where Raindrop.io does more, we say so.

Different

  • Chrome only, through the extension: there are no phone or desktop apps.
  • No shared or public collections.
  • Acting on several bookmarks at once needs Premium; the broken-link check and bulk cleanup need Pro.
The math

One subscription instead of a stack

Questions

Something else? Write to us from the Contact link below.

Do I need the extension?

Yes. Toolbox imports into Chrome's own bookmarks, so the Bookmarks page on the web works through the extension: add it to Chrome, sign in, then import.

Can I import just one collection?

Yes. Open the collection in Raindrop.io, use its Export button to save it as CSV, and drop that file instead of the full backup.

Is importing free?

Yes, with no limit. Acting on several bookmarks at once needs Premium, and the broken-link check with bulk cleanup needs Pro.

Is Toolbox free?

Yes. Every tool works on the free plan, with a few limits. Premium removes the limits and adds features like full-page captures and cloud storage, for every tool at once. Pro adds signatures, Office conversions and bookmark cleanups on top. You only add a card if you decide to upgrade.
